5 Reasons to Attend the @PittInnovates Open

1-1

Curious about the process for taking an idea or discovery to the market and/or developing your skills as an entrepreneur? If so, head to the O’Hara Student Center this Thursday, September 20, where you can explore the Pitt innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. In Fiscal Year 2018 alone, Pitt innovators launch 23 startups, all formed from Pitt technologies, while students like Brandon Contino and Dan Chi launched their own company, Four Growers, based on their own idea. Wherever you are in your innovation journey, we are ready to help you make an impact.

At our @PittInnovates Open starting at 5 p.m. you can learn about the education, funding, and mentorship opportunities available to you as a Pitt faculty, staff, or student.  We'll keep things light with an ice cream sundae bar with various toppings. We would love to see you at there, so here are 5 reasons you should stop by:

1. Get Started on Your Own Big Idea

At @PittInnovates Open you will be surrounded by many like-minded individuals from different disciplines, as well as Pittsburgh’s top startup accelerators, investors and incubators that share a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. There will be plenty to discuss, whether you are looking for a people to join your team, a team to join, or even looking for someone to bounce some early-stage thoughts off of, this event is for you.

2. Get to Know Our Entrepreneurs in Residence

Who are Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR's)? They are a group of individuals with plenty of industry and startup experience that are looking to help faculty, staff, and students commercialize their ideas at Pitt. Each EIR has a different background and are available by appointment to discuss your idea or innovation. You may even win a lunch with one!
