Pitt students: When it comes to starting a business, help us help you

Tom Cruise, as Jerry Maguire, couldn't have said it better: "Help me, help you!" Help US help you.

Pitt is charged up and ready to help you with a series of events and programs for the Pitt student who wants to stat a business or take an idea to commercial reality.

Coming off a record year where Pitt’s Innovation Institute helped start 76 new business entities, 21 from Pitt students or faculty, Pitt has even more stuff in store this year.

Idea_from_Greg_coticchiaHave a passion? A hobby? Something you love doing and never thought about making it a career and a business? Well, you have come to the right school.

We have events, programs and, more importantly, mentors who can help you work through what you are thinking about and see if it's something you can take to “Shark Tank” or just keep in your basement. Check out some of our programs like The Blast Furnace.

Maybe you are looking for other people like you, people that want to start something, and you want to add them to your team? Or maybe you want to be a part of someone else’s innovative idea and be on their team? We've got you covered there as well with Startup PittBlitz, a mini startup weekend, just for these purposes.

Perhaps you want to learn about investment in startups? PantherTank, where you can be the judge of new businesses!

We have tons to offer “studentpreneurs.”

Begin your journey with us on September 24th from 6-8pm at the William Pitt Union Ballroom where we will be reviewing these programs and having fun at Startup Smash!

Be there! And let’s start something good together.
